Snowfall warning in effect for:
    •    Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island
    •    Blind River - Thessalon
    •    Manitoulin Island
    •    Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake

Snowfall with total amounts of about 15 cm is expected.

Snow at times heavy continues early this morning.

Additional snowfall accumulations of 5 cm can be expected by the time the snow begins to taper off to flurries later this morning.

Snow squalls are then forecast to develop this afternoon or evening. Snow squall watches are in effect for some areas.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snow squalls beginning this afternoon through Saturday night.

Long-lived snow squalls are forecast to develop east of Lake Superior this afternoon. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 40 cm are possible from this afternoon through Saturday night. Currently, the highest snowfall amounts are expected between Montreal River and Batchawana Bay.

Strong winds gusting up to 60 km/h combined with the heavy snow will result in near zero visibility at times.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.

    •    Manitoulin Island

Snow squalls likely beginning this afternoon through Saturday morning.

Locally heavy snow squalls are forecast to develop north and northeast of Georgian Bay as cold southwesterly winds develop this afternoon. Local snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are expected.

Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h combined with the heavy snow will result in very poor visibility at times.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
